The soft techniques are the culmination of the Japanese traditional Ju-Jitsu and Aikido martial arts.
The basic techniques include stances, blocks, captures, take downs, throws, nerve touching, wrist and arm locks and holds.
The MKR style of Ju-Jitsu is composed of basic wazas for
Shodan Nidan, Sandan, Yondan & Godan,
As an example;
Shodan has six basic wazas, the degree or level of rank depends on the amount of required variations the student can perform for each wazsa.
The green belt (gokyu) requires just to perform the first 3 basic wazas of the 6 .
The next grade, green belt (yonkyu) requires the remaining 3 wazas.
The Brown belt (sankyu) requires 4 variations of each 6 wazas, totaling 24 variations.
On up to Shodan which requires a total of 42
