HISTORY
In the summer of 1987, after 4 years of preparation, formulation, and development Mukashi Kindai Ryu (MKR) was born.
In the spring of 1990 the MKR system was reviewed by the World Soke Council (WSC) (an International Council composed of several national boards representing over thirty countries, now known as the International Society of Headfounders and Headfamilies). The WSC determined that the MKR style was a valid martial arts system with Japanese lineage, and Rick Boyer * was its true and valid founder. The council thus recognized him as Shodai Soke (Original founder, Headfamily) of the MKR system, with the Rank of Hachidan Black Belt (8th), later in 2000 his rank was elevated by the council to Judan black belt (10th).
In the Spring of 1990, the Mukashi Kindai Kai International (MKKI) was organized for the management and administration of the Ryu. This was done in order to enable the Ryu to spread and grow.
